UFOs ‘threatening national security’ with ‘shapeshifting’ craft spotted – Daily Star

The US government is currently investigating 291 new UFO sightings, with approximately 12 of these cases presenting unexplained phenomena. These unexplained cases feature unidentified aerial objects exhibiting extraordinary speed or changing shape in ways that defy current understanding. These sightings, which occurred over an eight-month period up to April 2023, were reported mainly near restricted military airspace.

Sean Kirkpatrick, who leads a 40-member team from the Pentagon’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, revealed that only about 4% of these new reports fell into the category of unexplained phenomena. Half of the reports were easily explained as mundane objects such as weather balloons, drones, or floating debris. Some of the sightings could be attributed to foreign activity, suggesting the use of advanced technology by potential adversaries for spying on the US.

While the investigations continue, the UFO sightings have led to heightened security measures. The Federal Aviation Administration has started providing information on unexplained craft to the Pentagon. However, Kirkpatrick’s team has not yet found any hard evidence of extraterrestrial activity. He also refuted claims of government cover-ups related to reverse-engineering crashed alien spacecraft and recovery of non-human pilots.

Kirkpatrick suggests that the increased attention on UFO sightings could have significant security benefits, even if no alien craft are discovered. The heightened scrutiny makes it more difficult for adversaries to use spying technology against the US undetected. He also believes that the government should have taken these steps years ago to address potential security threats.
