A new levitating rover is in the works. MIT is currently looking for ways to engineer a new hovercraft that can move without air. Many planets do not have an atmosphere meaning that there is no air on the planet. The team currently working on the concept have it shaped like an circular UFO. After the concept is done the next plan is to make a small version to test it out. As small as your hand.
Key Takeaways:
- We have developed a new levitating rover concept that would help us in the future.
- MIT wants to engineer this concept as they believe it is the future.
- A test version is currently under works and hopefully there will be a concept version soon.
“The team is currently working on a test version of the craft: a small, disc-shaped test vehicle about the size of a human palm and weighing about as much as a chicken egg.”
