Just a few years ago sending people to Mars was just the stuff of science fiction; however, now NASA has a 25-year time frame to put astronauts in orbit around Mars. Elon Musk’s company, SpaceX, has an even more pressing time line.
They are developing a reusable vehicle that can send 100 people at a time to begin colonizing Mars. While the spacecraft may get people there, how they live will require using many high-tech alternatives to make Mars hospitable to people with its low gravity, oxygen-free atmosphere, and high radiation.
Key Takeaways:
- Mar’s gravity is weaker than earths.
- Mars’ atmosphere is almost all CO2
- Humans want to get people on Mars in the next ten years.
“Colonize the red planet.”
